CSIT 430/530 Split
The Graduate Council has approved the Split of CSIT 430/530 to two different courses: CS 430/530 and IT 530. The new configuration will enable CS students to take more programming oriented approach, while allow IT students to focus on policy/regulatory compliance issues.
The Council also approved a special topics course CS 599 Computational Data Mining to be offered in the second Summer term.

Graduate School Dean Search
Two candidates for the Graduate School Dean position are visiting campus this week. Dr. Krenn on Tuesday and Dr. Babbitss on Thursday. Current students are encouraged and urged to meet them 4:30 - 5:30 pm at 220 Whitaker.

Graduate School Registration Waiver Form
The CS Department will participate a pilot program to improving tracking students who do not register courses continuously. All students will receive a reminder at one month before a regular (Spring/Fall) semester starts, and will be asked to file a 'Registration Waiver Form' if she does not plan to register for the semester for any reason. The information will be maintained internally.
